a week is a lot of energy

i forgot about the sandsations sand sculpture contest we visited in maine (the day before our last full day in new england).

it was fairly early in the contest when we stopped by, so everyone was working very diligently! some of the sculptures were taking shape quite nicely.

anyway, our last full day in new england.

My first Fribble

jason and i made a pitstop at friendly’s so i could try my first fribble. it was pretty good! i was also feeling very low-energy. kinda ready to go home, really. but, we need to get to boston to stay with lynn for an evening. i think we had a pretty early morning flight the next day.

the drive from maine into boston was a little longer than we anticipated so we spent our last couple hours as tourists at the harvard museum of natural history.

and i had to find all of the kitties in the animal galleries. (kind of a huge museum, really — i didn’t expect so many different exhibits.)

and we met “john harvard” while we were wandering around.

we met lynn for a tapas dinner at a nearby restaurant, and later i gifted her with a cross-stitch i’d started many, many years ago.

AND YAY, this concludes my updates for our new england adventure of 2012. we’re off to vegas tomorrow morning! i’m sure i’ll be posting many photos on instagram.
