Always new things to see in Boston

How was this already almost a month ago?! Ugh. Time passes too quickly.

Handsome husband in Boston, Fenway in the distance.

We left New Hampshire bright and early on Sunday morning to meet Lynn and her new beau for brunch (the most important meal of the week, she once said). This put us into the Backbay neighborhood of Boston a little earlier than our check-in time allowed for, but luckily we were staying in a neighborhood with many conveniences around. We found a patio to hang out on — and I could see Fenway from where I sat.

We didn’t have a lot on our ‘must do’ agenda, so that first night we opted for a picturesque walk along the Charles River Esplanade.

It was a perfect evening — almost every couple we passed was smooching on each other.

We actually walked quite a bit further than I thought we would. (The Prudential building is the tall one on the right in both of those previous two photos, if that gives you an idea of distance.)

Somehow I took us on a hilly adventure into the Beacon Hill neighborhood. Those mini-doors are for real.

We sort of started walking along the Freedom Trail, unintentionally.

… and into Boston Common at dusk.

Jason really wanted to figure out where the bench from Good Will Hunting was. I think we found it. Here I present a still from the movie and a photo from the view of the bench:

The bench was actually corded off, so we couldn’t sit and it wasn’t terribly photogenic.

Eventually we found our way back to our rental, then realized we hadn’t eaten dinner. So we caught the ‘last call’ at a nearby sushi restaurant.

Lobster Roll was pretty well dressed!

Modern photo booths are fancy & we are nerds. #blababooth

The next morning, we headed out around 10am for food and more tourism. Continued in next post! Because there are so many photos already.
