Last Monday I went to Ladies’ Night at the Dinkytowner with Rebecca and Orion. Rebecca just asked me if I wanted to go again tonight and I’m not sure if I’m ready to return to the scene. Also I haven’t seen my home in a few days. But here are some photos from last week:
The first sign of trouble:

Okay, so enough of that. I also took a few photos at Rachel and Aaron‘s wedding party on Saturday (they were married last Tuesday). We had all been waiting for about a half hour after the party’s “start time” when Aaron came rushing up the front stoop. “Everyone inside, everyone inside!” He yelled. When we were all herded into the main room, he pointed back at the entrance and told everyone to form an aisle. Rachel and her dad, Tom, walked in and across the room to Aaron. Tom gave her to Aaron, then Aaron and Rachel had a nice little kiss and a million cameras took photos. It was totally sweet and I’m glad they didn’t dwell. It was too hot to be in tears. Congrats, Rachel and Aaron!

today i snuck over to the dickensons’ house and caught some brief pool action. their yappy dog, jasper, allowed me in with barely a struggle – just belly scratching required. he usually barks and barks and barks and barks and barks and…
last night was the third night in a row that i sang karaoke. i think i’m all out of singing power for a little while. i always try to do songs i haven’t done before, but without having itunes at home to download songs that i’d like to hear once or twice before singing in public, it’s difficult feeling courageous. christina and i were going to try “the boy is mine” by brandy and monica last night, but alas closing time came too early.
tonight is a soiree for rachel sorensen (friend and sister of a friend from high school) and aaron packard (local photographer, took my sister’s wedding photos) as they are getting hitched. that should be fun, but i’m not sure what to expect. food? dancing? poker? we shall see. i’m sure it will be fun, regardless of what happens.

So work was kinda crazy this week and I didn’t have time to tell you more about the Fiona Apple show or upload photos from the insane Ladies’ Night at the Dinkytowner on Monday or tell you how horrible I felt all day Tuesday or about how on Wednesday I made Karyn watch So You Think You Can Dance with me or how yesterday I was on the road because I’m headed to a wedding this weekend.
I am in Vermillion, getting ready to leave for a lunch date with Kelsey. Tinker the Cat is all over me and I’m covered in grey fur. But perhaps this afternoon I will share more.

So it’s midnight and I’m at the museum because I have an internet connection here. I just couldn’t wait. I had to share this most joyous of joyous news:
Damien Rice:
Fiona Apple and me:
My fresh autographs:
There will be Flickr photos uploading soon and I will write more on Monday when I can breath again… It was fantastic. I love. I only wish I could have shared this with someone (next time, Kelsey!) and now I have to go find a bus to get home.
I am so happy.

Mary and I just took a trip to Dairy Queen in Stadium Village. It is positively disgusting outside and now I am positively disgusting, too. I am not leaving my house this weekend. Thank goodness for air conditioning!
We passed the Radisson Hotel on our way and there are two tour buses parked there (one on the side of the building and one in front)… So I wonder where Fiona Apple and Damien Rice are staying while they’re in Minneapolis? I am hoping to catch a glimpse of Fiona while I’m waiting for the show to start tonight. I’m going to get a sandwich from Erbert’s & Gerbert’s and park myself on a shaded bench behind Northrup.
I am having daydreams of what it would be like to be Fiona’s best friend. It will be an exceptionally awesome night, I am sure!
