Yesterday was a great day!
Things are going very well at work, my new classmates seem awesome (grad students are less shy than undergrad students?), and Ellipses did not knock too many things over during my very long day away from him.
My morning class (“Game Design”) is more undergrad students than grad students, but I think it’ll be an interesting mix of people. Sauman Chu was very energetic for an 8:30am class, which was refreshing. I think I’ll really like her through the semester.
My evening class (“Design Research”) is entirely grad students—and I was one of the youngest. Brad Hokanson seems really down to earth, and has a good rapport with those students that already know him. A bunch of my classmates also know each other from previous courses and they get along well. I was especially pleased with the two gals I was matched with for introductions. Julie is a mom from Chicago and loves monster trucks (because they are so “raw”), and Kristin does Tango. We all enjoy Scrabble.
The energy from these classes! Amazing! I think it’ll be a great semester.

So Rebecca is FINALLY back from Australia and we shared some much needed girl gossip over Wondrous Punches at the Red Dragon last night. We possibly had too much fun… I would say “definitely” instead, but since Minneapolis was caught up in a mini-blizzard last night, there weren’t many other people to get involved in our fun.
Tomorrow morning I start being a graduate student and that is crazy. Tuesdays might kill me (class from 8:30am–10:30am, work ’til 5:30pm, another class from 6:30pm–9:30pm). I will persevere! Next semester I think I’d like to try to get back to back classes instead.
All of my application materials are in to the College of Design, and I have gooooood feelings about my future status as a graduate student.
I think I’ve had an excess of relaxation over the holidays (and today was a day off, too—thanks, MLK Jr.). I am ready to work and learn and get things done!

I’ve been presented with the idea of touring with Plastic Chord through the Midwest. I’m thinking it would be pretty awesome and unusual for my little life… Karyn could cat-sit Ellipses.
Oh, Plastic Chord. I’m a fool for you and you know it!

Hello!
I finally gave in and now have my own internet at home. I set up a wireless connection all by myself (with some troubleshooting support from my sister and bro-in-law). I feel so tech-y.
So now it is much easier for me to post new photos of Ellipses. He’s been naughty today, but he’s finally cat-napping.
Here he is levitating:
I’m posting this photo because it’s creepy how all of my pets have glowing eyes. Are they teaming up? (Can you see the fish eyes? Yikes!)
Here he is trying to get to my milk puddle:
And, finally, he sleeps:
Also, I won’t post the photos here, but if you’re interested: you can view the before and after photos of my frenectomy in the gallery.
I forgot to mention that I posted some photos from a party at Shanai‘s apartment. I went with Ellen because we were pretty sure we wouldn’t know anyone else. (Both of these gals are my coworkers.)
It was supposed to be a board game party, but I only played one game of cribbage. I want to play Trivial Pursuit.
