Updating! This one is wordy and picturey.

Friday: attended Jared’s house-warming party. Mostly it was dudes, but for a while Kristi and I had another gal with whom to talk about shoes and purses. Then she left and it was all guitars and edamame.

Saturday: drove Karyn and Bryan to the airport at a very early hour, then headed to the other side of the cities to my aunt Laurie’s house so that I could attend the Renaissance Festival with her, my cousin Jamie and Jamie’s pal, Haylie. Huzzah!

We returned to their house around 6pm and had a quick dinner, then I followed Jamie and Haylie to a festival being held at Holy Name Church near Plymouth. The music was alright, but for a church with about a bazillion members, the turn-out was not terribly impressive. We wandered around in the church and played on the playground and scoped out the Boy Scouts.

I got home around 9:30pm-ish and then went over to visit a headachey Kristi for a bit. We watched Medium on DVD and complained about being tired.

On my way home (driving on Chicago towards downtown) I saw a dude on a corner who seemed to want to cross the street. I watched him (I was at a red light) as he slightly bent forward at the waist, lost his balance and repositioned himself. Repeatedly. Each time he bent closer and closer to falling over. At least I wasn’t that tired.

Sunday: Treas picked me up and took me out for lunch around 11am. We tried going to several places I’ve never been but, of course, they were all closed or insanely busy. We ended up at the Rock Bottom Brewery which is okay, but not exciting. We had a lovely time, in any case.

Later I picked Kristi up and we went to Minnehaha Falls Park. I had never been there before! It was a really good day to hike around the mini-forest. Very brisk and autumn-y.

Monday/Tuesday/Today: Work and class. Nothing too exciting. Last night I started to really play with flash for my web design class assignment and I was pretty pleased with my results thus far. Next week we have to give a presentation about what our web project will be. Today we might finally get a demo of how to use the fancy negative scanners at the photo lab, so hopefully I’ll have some stuff to work on for that class, too.

My screen is very dark and I briefly lost my mouse but I am writing to you from MacKenzie’s back porch. Let me tell you: wireless and beer are indeed a fantastic combination.

Today I am having a mood swing every five seconds. I was feeling rather fortunate this morning, which slowly evolved into reclusive, then irritable, then sleepy, now sickly… It is unfortunate that I have class tonight. The only thing I want to do right now is curl up on my couch with a cup of tea and just be cozy.

It might as well be winter already as far as I’m concerned.

However, this mood will improve and fun activities are in my near future. This weekend I will be headed to the Renaissance Festival with Aunt Laurie, Cousin Jamie and Jamie’s friend, Haylie. It’s Irish Heritage Weekend, so I’m hoping to be harassed by some mildly attractive, dirty, drunken Irishmen. I am also very much looking forward to the annual delight of Chicken and Wild Rice Soup in a Breadbowl.

I should wrap up and get ready for class… I hope I get some homework tonight.

Awesome? Stealing wireless internet from the comfort of my apartment. I am not wearing pants right now!

Anyway. Last night I went with Kristi to see the Wicker Man. Mostly okay as I have a strange appreciation for Nick Cage even though his acting skillz are declining with each movie he makes (I love, love, love him in Moonstruck). The only thing that I hope the producers regret is an unfortunate voice-over bit towards the end of the film. If you’ve seen it, you probably know what I’m talking about.

I slept in late this morning and shortly after waking received another call from Kristi to invite me to brunch. Indeed! It was like old times having Bloody Marys at the Spring Street Tavern. It might be one of my favorite places in the Twin Cities now. It’s great.

Afterwards we traveled to Roseville briefly… And I’ve been celebrating autumn by drinking hot chocolate and cross stitching since returning home in the early afternoon. I am working on something a bit more complicated and I’ve only used four of 26 colors so far. It doesn’t look like anything yet.

Oh, also, I guess my comments aren’t working here right now. I’m not sure what I’ll need to do to fix that, but I’ll get it done sometime soon. I’ll go work on that now.

I just uploaded photos of my recent cross stitch projects. Sorry, I didn’t censor anything. (Subversive Cross Stitch is not your average, boring cross stitch.)
