tiptoe through the orchard

this past weekend was so beautiful and warm. somehow i tricked jason into going outside to enjoy nature with me.

we opted to try the pine tree apple orchard in white bear lake, because, well — they were the first option suggested by friends. part of the drive took us through a very autumn-colored forest, which was lovely.

there was also this nice little walk that we took. uphill to the pumpkin patch, downhill to the barn.

we were sort of expecting to be able to pick an apple or two, though. that option was not available. so, after our little jaunt and admiring all of the apples we weren’t able to pick, we went into the barn to “pick” a peck of honey crisps.

also found some really delicious cookies: cider chocolate chip. i got a small six-pack (because, really, i don’t need cookies sitting around my house) and there are only two left. i will miss them when they’re all gone.

we were thinking about trying another orchard if the weather is still beautiful this coming saturday, but i also just learned about another nearby-ish winery in new prague. — oh! i just googled: there are three right in a row! so maybe, if the weather is nice, i can trick jason again…
