Where I Live

I wanted to adjust my air conditioner last night and realized that I have no idea if I’m turning it on to the right setting. It is up really high and I am a short girl (about 5’3″), so I reach blindly for the knob and turn something on. I took a picture of the switch for my own reference. And then I thought I’d take some additional photos of the new home, from the perspective of being about one foot tall. Because sometimes that is how I feel in my new apartment. I love it, but everything is so high up! I actually had to buy a step ladder just to reach certain things (such as cupboards over the refrigerator or the air conditioner). The tour begins with my kitchen and rotates to the left, from my “dining area”, to the “living area” to the “office area” (which is a mess and a source of shame) and back through the “dining area” towards my bedroom. But it stops at the hallway to my bedroom because I am shy. Or something.

(In this next photo you sort of see that I am watching an X-Men movie for the 3rd time this week, I am excited to see the new one this weekend.)

In other news, I attended karaoke as per usual at Legend’s last night with Jen and Rebecca. I sang a couple new songs and failed, so I sang a couple old songs and rocked as much as I could with a fragile karaoke ego. Rebecca and I also sang a duet, after much prodding on my part. She thinks she’s not good. Psssh!

So I got to bed around 2:30am and woke up at 7:30am and at first I wanted to stay in bed, but I got up, made a cup of chai, and convinced myself that leaving the apartment is a good thing.

Tonight I am considering attending the Un-Prom at the Walker, but I might fall asleep accidentally. It sounds like a cool event, though.

Amy, an interesting perspective from which to take photos of your apartment. It looks cool! I’m glad your enjoying the new place!

Thanks for the comments yesterday. I followed up on them this morning.
